9/11 Ten Years Later. Where Were You?

Lest We Forget

It’s been ten years since September 11, 2001. Today one of my coworkers, Ginny, who was flying in the air with me that fateful day, sent me a text:  “We will always be bonded by the events of 9/11. Stay safe my friend.” And as I watched the tribute on TV, I started to tear up again. I remember it distinctly. The world has changed so much since that horrible day in history. Rather than recount that story here, I’ve already written a post in 2008 telling my story of that day. If you’d like to read my story, click here for the 2008 9/11 post. Lest we forget.

Sketch Club Players Put on “Out of Sight…Out of Murder”

And I Helped…

Out of Sight…Out of Murder opened last week at the Woodbury Sketch Club Players, and I helped.  That’s right folks. I was the assistant director.  My job was to assist director John Blackwell where ever it was possible including being on book during rehearsal, feeding actors their lines, reading lines when actors missed rehearsals, and working with the various actors to help them develop their characters. I had a wonderful time performing my duties but it was pretty easy when you’re working with a talented director like John–not to mention the talented cast he was able to assemble.

Eagles Sign Michael Vick

And Lose the Pre-season Opener

vick

I raced home after rehearsal last night to catch the end of the 3rd quarter of the Eagles’ pre-season opener. I switched on the set to see the Eagles were trailing considerably behind the Patriots. In true Eagles fashion, they fought back, trailing by only 2 points with less than a minute left in the game. Unfortunately, David Ackers missed the 40+ yard field goal attempt and we lost the game. As I was just about to turn off the game, an announcement came that big, shocking news was coming from the Eagles camp: The Eagles had signed dog killer Michael Vick! (Yup, that’s how they announced it, “dog killer.” And yes, he is a dog killer.)

philadelphia_eagles-3778Now it wasn’t so shocking that Vick was signed. I expected some team to sign him; however, it was shocking that the Eagles signed him. Since I live in the Philly area, this is really BIG news.

The news broadcast started with the same “dog killer” title and went into details about Vick’s arrest and the violent treatment that dogs suffered at his hands. They continued on about how he had spent 18 months in jail and how many speculated he would never play football again. But play he will and for the Philadelphia Eagles, none-the-less… Continue reading

Fake Magazine Covers

Create Fake Magazine Covers with your own picture at MagMyPic.com

I was visiting a new blog I discovered on Blog Catalog, Strawberry Fields Forever, and I came across a post for creating your own magazine covers. How could I resist? So I hit the link and within less than a minute I was uploading a picture of my daughter at Scrapplefest last year. How cute. She’d probably kill me if she knew I did this.

I recommend checking out the Strawberry Fields Forever blog. And if you don’t know what Scrapple is, please check my blog archives.
