’96 Gibson SG Special Guitar for Sale

In Good To Very Good Used Condition

1996 Gibson SG Special Guitar with new gold tuning keys and a soft case.

I don’t usually use my blog to sell stuff, but my soon-to-be son-in-law is selling off his 1996 Gibson SG Special Guitar to raise some money for the french drain system they need for their basement and the new roof that they must get by springtime.  Funny isn’t it that as we grow the toys of our youth seem less important and get replaced by new toys like refrigerators, washers, dryers, and sump pumps for the basement? Ah, the joys of home ownership.  Makes you grow up pretty fast, eh?

Anyway, Aaron is not only willing to give up his once prized position, he’s absolutely dying to sell it.  The French drain with sump pump is gonna run them about $4,000.  The roof could run anywhere from $3,000 – $6,000 depending on whether they do the whole roof or just the back. (They recently received a letter from the insurance company that they will drop them if they don’t replace the back part of the roof by springtime.)  Aaron understands that the sale of the guitar isn’t going to pay for either of these needs, but it sure can help offset the costs…

Well, now that I’ve softened you up to Heather and Aaron’s plight, take a good look at the pictures of the guitar.  Of course, we’d really rather sell it to someone locally.  It would be both a pain and expensive to pack it up and ship it. (Although we won’t refuse to ship it if you’re willing to pay for the shipping. I can ship packages UPS from my work where we ship hundreds of packages every day.) Of course, if you’re local, you can come and look at it before you buy it, if you want. Plus, if  you are local and want to give it as a Christmas present, there’s time to do that.  Now a lot of my readers are not local but since my blog is linked both to tweeter and facebook, there’s a good chance that lots of local people will read this.  And in addition to posting this on my blog, I’ve also posted this on Craigslist.

Araon’s asking $450.oo for the guitar.  It has new gold tuning keys and comes with a soft case.  As far as rating it goes, Aaron says that it is in good to very good condition.  Aaron’s pretty good at taking care of his things and he’s been pretty good to this guitar.  I have to admit, though, that I know absolutely nothing about guitars myself.  Please leave a response here if you are interested with your email address so that I can respond to you privately with how you can reach Aaron. Or if you know me, call me and I will give you Aaron’s phone number.

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming…
