A Year In Review: 2008

My Romantic Home is hosting a Year In Review party over at their blog. It’s a simple photo showcase featuring images from your blog throughout the year. You can visit her blog here and check out all the participating blogger links. Here’s my photo montage (sans any political pictures cause I think we all have had enough of that for a while):

Update – I’ve decided to add a little extra to this post, a few links to some of my previous posts:

My First Post – First Time For Everything
On the Soap Box Regarding Plastic Bags – Plastic Bags are Very, Very Bad
Doing Something Nice – Random Acts of Kindness
Another Amazing Product – Skid Marks to the Rescue
I hope you enjoyed the sampling of some of my posts from 2008. I didn’t link to any that were posted in the past two months. These are just some of my older posts that I was either proud of or got a kick out of. Happy New Year to all my friends here in the blog world. You are all so wonderful and I thank you for sharing a little bit of yourself with me as I share a little bit of me with you. May 2009 be all we need it to be.

Happy New Year to you, your daughter, all of your family and friends. Hope it’s one terrific year for all of you. Most important thing is stay healthy, money can’t buy good health. So far this time, Abe seems to be doing a lot better then the last time his lung collapsed, so I’m wondering if it didn’t have a slow leak the first time they sent him home.

    Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Great posts. I am already thinking about how to dispose of my dog poo now. I do turn in some plastic at the store to recycle. What do you do with your dog poo?

Anyhoo, congrats on quitting smoking. I quit 7 or 8 years ago and gained 20 lbs but have lost over half of it. I feel so much better. I can’t believe I ever had that stinky nasty habit.

Good luck with everything you do this new year.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I enjoyed your review pictures too. I hope the very best for you in this new year.

Marianne – Thanks for stopping by and best wishes to you too.

Old Lady Lincoln – Thank you for the well wishes. I’m glad to hear that Abe is doing a lot better than last time. If there was a slow leak, I hope they plugged it right this time. Happy New Year to you too!

Heathersister – I have a handled scooper thing and flush the pooh. It’s a pain and it’s got to be cleaned regularly but it’s the greenest way to handle doggie poo…

Jewelstreet – It’s a great idea but it wasn’t mine. I just went along with the group. Happy New Year.

Char72 – I’m glad you liked my pictures.

Keeper of the Skies Wife – Happy new year to you too!

Laura Ingalls Gunn – Glad you liked them. Happy New Year!

  5. Babette says:

Happy New Year my friend! I have to dig through your old posts to see what the photos are about and I bet it’ll be a fun read. I hope this new year will be a good one for you. :o)

  6. K says:

    Happy New Year.

Hope it’s the start of a great one.

(And I totally think the credit report guy is cute – maybe it’s the pirate outfit).

  7. Miss Sandy says:

Great review, OK, I thought I was the only one who actually likes the quirky songs for credit report dot com! Too fun! Happy New Year!

  8. Cindy ~ My Romantic Home says:

Hi Preston, thanks for joining in on my year in review! I really enjoyed reading all your past posts (except the skid marks…I sort of skipped over that one!) The credit report guy doesn’t do anything for me but I’m glad you think he’s cute!!! I loved reading your post about your poem!

I hope you have a wonderful New Year (thank goodness we will have a new and great president soon!!!)

  9. Linh says:

    Happy New Year!

What, your picture of you in drag did not make the cut?

Your entrecard ad today is Political Conservatives. Love that!

  10. Preston says:

Babette – Happy New Year to you too girlfriend. I’m looking forward to a good 2009 and wishing the same to you.

Desiree – The sunflowers were planted by my daughter and we were surprised by the multiple blooms.

Megryansmom – Happy New Year to you too. And such a good wish…nothing more I could ask for.

K – Happy New Year. And yea, he’s a cutie for sure.

Miss Sandy – Thanks. Apparently there is a bunch of us who like the credit report dot com guy.

Cindy – I was happy to join in and I’m glad you like my blog. You should have read the post about the skid marks cause it’s a really funny product and the skid marks are fake anyway. LOL

Linh – Happy New Year. I decided to go with the 80’s pic of Heather and me instead of the one of me in drag. Hey, I’m open to all ideas.

  13. Preston says:

Rachael – I’m really glad you enjoyed my photo montage and reading some of my older posts. I still have a thing for the Free Credit Report dot com Guy even though I found it it’s not his voice. 😦 Have a great New Year.

I read your winning poem and although it wasn’t the one you expected, it is certainly profound. Something to be proud of for all time. :o)

    Hi Preston 🙂

Thank you for the really sweet comment and Happy New Year to you and yours too!!

Yes, I was a bit sad about Annie not believing in the whole Santa thing, but I know it was time. Now I need some grandchildren, just not right this minute LOL

  19. Preston says:

Joy – Thanks for stopping by. I’m really glad you liked my poem. Can you believe I was barely 16 when I wrote it?

Rue – I’m still waiting on the Grandkid thing but my daughter has to get married first. It’s still a magical time of the year though, even if the kids do stop believing.

Scrappinaway – Glad to give you something nice to read when you got back!
